The Asphalt Highway Meets the Digital Highway

Burlingame, CA. – JULY 10th, 2014 – Fanfare Entertainment, LLC is very pleased to announce that rising country music star Caroline Kole is helping to kick off the Rifftime on Route 66 interactive Festival with her appearance on July 25th at Cicero’s in St. Louis. Kole—seventeen and so brimming with talent that Reba McEntire has taken her under her wing—has already had a nationally charted debut single on Starstruck Records and a video premiering at #1 on CMT Pure, and a new video is already on the CMT charts – reviews have been strong. Kole’s debut is like “country music before country music started edging its way toward a country/pop crossroad… the sound that veteran country music lovers embraced back then and crave today,” -Keepin’ It Country. Kole’s music is a perfect match for a brand new festival named for Route 66, the American Road.

This is not your usual festival. It’s the world’s first linear music festival. It runs the entire length of Route 66, from Chicago to L.A., and lasts for two solid weeks from July 25th to August 9th. The festival features music from many genres, and brings live music and live audiences online. Many of the events will be streamed on the Rifftime website (route66.rifftime.com) which means that you will be able to see almost everything virtually. You can blog and participate via social media. You can even toss a few bucks in the digital tip jar for your favorite artist. There are dozens of bands and performers playing all kinds of music lined up at venues that run the length of the road. Musical acts like western swingers Cow Bop can be seen at Logan Square Studio in Chicago (July 25th) and at the Jazz Hall of Fame in Tulsa (July 30th), or the Country Blues Revue will be playing the Cowgirl in Santa Fe (August 2nd) and the Santa Fe Bandstand (August 5th); or the LA Duo at the Tavern of Fine Arts in St. Louis (August 6th), and the Cellar Door in Kingman, Arizona (August 6th), and Duchess will hit the Coleman Theater in Miami, Oklahoma (July 29th). Keep checking http://route66.rifftime.com/events/ for up to the minute information on performers’ schedules.

There you have it: artists putting together their own shows while marketing their music through the Rifftime product’s applications and social media outlets. This is all about technology and musicians working together, making local music at the national level. The music business is tough on musicians nowadays, but this new concept might just make it a bit easier.
